So we started implicit differentitation today. We need to find derivatives of functions like y^3 + 2x^2 =3
So no problem
3y^2y'+4x=0
3y^2y'=-4x
y'=-4x/3y^2
Gold.
I got that.
As soon as we put in quotient functions though it all goes to hell. I have yet to get one of those correct if the u and v functions are more than a singel variable, ie I can manage if it's x/y but (2x^2+3/3y+1) screws me over something fierce!
However back to the important part of the title. The Empire struck back at the Rebel Alliance after the destruction of the Death Star at the hands of the Alliance. So the question remains what did I do to anger the Calculus Empire and have it strike back at my Rebel Alliance.
We did our first math quiz on Tuesday, and we got the marks back today.
As happy as I am with my mark, and don't get me wrong I am very happy, coming that close to perfection and missing it is strangely dissapointing.
It was out of 35. I managed to score 34.5 or 99%. Oh yeah, suck on that Calculus Empire. I lost a .5 of a mark because I didn't resolve an equation completely. Personally I thought it should be left in the form I left it in, 49/4+pi, but I guess not.
Oh well, I will take my calculus mark and I will run all the way to the bank.....
Now if a little droid would just show up with plans to the new Death Star I could look at.....
