School and life

Well another week has come and gone.

School is progressing well. We have a multitude of assignments and tests next week. We start with a Calculus test on Tuesday that will cover limits, definition of the derivative, and derivative formulas. On Wednesday we have a quiz on minerals and their groups. We have to be able to identify 17 or 18 minerals from pictures as well as their chemical make up. Ie. That's Molybdenite and it's formula is MoS2. It is a sulfide. Then on Thursday we have a word test in computer class. We also have a "resume" assignment due on wednsday, but I will probably knock that out today at work.

We started Excel in computer class. A couple of us, have skipped the "learning" portion and have moved directly on to the "do" portion of the assignment. We were both done the first half of the assignment in class. I think we have aprox 2 weeks of classes to work on Excel. Should prove pretty boring.

In general the class of people I am with have become a fair bit more friendly. Even so there is definite divisions among people, but I get along with everyone in the class for the most part.

Of the classes we have I am finding Geophysics the most interesting. Possibly because we are largely discussing seismic surverys, and it is a very real application of what we might be doing once we are finished the program.

Workouts have been going pretty well, I missed Tuesday's due to an ART appt but was back in on Thursday doing NROL. I decided during the middle of the routine that is Alwyn Cosgrove was my gym teacher I would have hated his guts. Three sets of 15 reps with 30 second rest breaks is EVIL.
