So we had our Calculus midterm today.
Quick over view.
#1: Quotient rule - No problem, double and triple checked. Should have it nailed
#2: Product rule - see above
#3: Higher derivative - Think I got this one as well
#4: Implicit differentiation - Usually not to tricky.
#5: Definition of the derivative - I know I nailed his one.
#6: Curvilinear motion - I think I got this one as well
#7: Tangent lines. No trouble. Checked it on a graphing calculator in computers
#8: Box max/min problem. Easiest of the max/mins. Apart from #9 gave me the most trouble. I copied a + down as a - which effected my answer alot. However it made it an impossible answer, so I knew it was wrong. Got it nailed in the end.
#9: Related rates problem. Speed of sound, temperature. Most of the class had no clue. 3 of us got an answer that was similar. We all converted the rate of change, that was in Kelvins per hour into Kelvins per second. The formula was given with T in K and t in seconds. An exceptional mark vs a good mark hangs on the balance of this question
#10: Curve sketching. Nailed it. Labeled the graph, put x and y, title. Should get full marks.
Now I wait. The related rates one will drive me nuts till I find out. It was trickier than I expected to see.
