Holidays and beyond..

Well been a little while since I posted, Christmas and all of that took time up I guess.

I worked full time at the help desk the week before Christmas and the week after Christmas leaving only me only one week off.

Having just work and no school was interesting, but without any set hobbies right now I was largely bored the first week off.

Over Christmas I read a couple of books, Shadow of the Giant as well as Runner. That kept me mostly entertained. After Christmas I played some games, Starcraft and some Quake III.

Christmas itself was pretty low key, spent Christmas Eve with Shannon's family as well as Christmas day. We had the morning at her Parents house and then to her Grandparents place for an early Christmas dinner. After that we went back to Shannon's place and had her family over for an evening of bad food, ok all of Christmas was bad food, although tasty, and board games. Five of us played Risk most of the evening with my armies remaining victorious and crushing all who opposed me.

We also had some friends over during the Holidays that I hadn't seen since school started, pretty busy and it is sometimes hard to get in touch with people who are also busy. Conflicting schedules suck.

After working on the desk the last full time week I was ready to go back to school and work in the evenings. Full time help desk work is for the birds IMHO.

I started my second semester this past week, Mon Jan 8th. We typically start at 8am and go to 2 or 3. The only day this dosen't hold true is Thursday, where we start at 11:00am and end at 6pm. This translates to a work schedule of 3-8 M-W & F with an 8 hour shift on Saturdays and Thursday off. Should be ok and infact I think it will be pretty cool.

The only realy issue is workout time. I get to school at 7am, I go to class at 8am. Workout takes 45 + shower time, dosen't leave me much time to get to the gym and to class. I will attempt something new tomorrow and leave home earlier, get to campus at 6:20am or so and work out then.

So far the classes look pretty ok, even though there is a fair number of them.

We had our first geology lab today and overall I think I like how the new geology teacher does things so I have pretty high hopes for that class.

At the end of it all, it's good to be back in class.
