I don't have a TV. I have however over the last month managed to catch 4 or 5 episodes of his new show. The guy is a star, and has easily double or trippled my desire to cook and expriment again.
You can get some of his recipes on www.foodtv.ca
His new show is done very rustic, older looking kitchen, almost cabinish, a lot of outdoor cooking in a wood over, over charcoal etc. As always he is picking his own herbs. However now he is big time and is not picking them from his window box, he is pulling them from his massive garden and making his gardener try things. (What a crappy job that guy has, not) Because of his garden he is now pulling produce out of it as well, fresh tomatoes, beans, berries, you name it. he is very encouraging when it comes to people growing there own stuff.
His website describes the new show as follows, Check it out. He makes it look as easy as it is.
This series is my chance to get back to doing what I love: cooking at home with simple, accessible ingredients. Over the last few years I’ve been growing my own fruit and veg with the help of my gardener Brian.
It’s a really laid back show and each episode focuses on a particular theme – it could be a look at all the different varieties of tomatoes, what you can do with lovely home-grown potatoes, or how to cook different cuts of lamb – but I’ll also be looking at how easy it is to grow your own produce; sometimes in weird and wonderful ways.
Even if you live at the top of a block of flats you will be able to have a go at growing something! It’s a celebration of no-nonsense beautiful seasonal food – a proper cooking show for modern-day people.
